Bass Harbor Light and Rocks

Maine is chuck-full-of Lighthouses.  On Mount Desert Island/Acadia National Park, Bass Harbor Light is a very attractive one.  Like Pemaquid, the rocks surrounding the Lighthouse help make it a unique place to shoot. 

Spring time is not the most ideal time to shoot at this location for either morning or late light.  But on this day we encountered clouds.  The clouds retained some character and detail and made them worthwhile to include in the image as a nice support. I did have to employ a two stop soft grad at an angle to help keep the exposures even but the effort was well worth it.
