Black River

The Black River runs through Hacklebarney State Park in New Jersey.  The river runs through a ravine that is deep in the park.  It's a great location to see what the last Ice Age did as it receded, pulling giant rocks up out of the earth as well as mashing them together to form giant ones.  There is a lot of good trout fishing here as well.  In the spring a whole assortment of wildflowers can be found as well.

This image was taken with a wide angle lens, Velvia film and a polarizer.  I metered the the highlights and overexposed them by a 1/3 to 1/2 stop.
