Branch on Beach

Walk along the shore during low tide and it can be amazing some of the things you will find.  The ocean can move some big objects on to the beach.  This branch isn't the biggest object I've seen washed ashore but it was one of the more photogenic subjects I've seen. 

I metered between the sand and the sky and used a 2 stop soft grad to bring some of the exposure values closer together.  The sand I let go towards the underside and concentrated on keeping the sky closer to normal.  I wanted the branch to silhouette and be a dominate subject.

The next high tide took this branch back out to sea.
