Coast by Otter Cliffs Sunrises in late spring at Acadia National Park are brutal. Sunrise is around 4:48am. That means you have to be up at 3am (or around that) to get out to the Otter Cliffs area by a little after 4 in case you get some good predawn light. This shot was taken around 4:30 in the morning. I like using strong foregrounds in relation to a big background, especially when a portion of the background is going to really be shape. I like to spend at least two mornings along this area of shoreline during my workshops. The warm light of the sun lights up the cliffs quite nicely after you try to capture the early color. |
