Fern Frond

 Certain lighting can really make details stand out.  The soft warm side lighting that was hitting these ferns made for an interesting subject.  Getting good detail to come through can be tough.  In the case of this image, it was breezy and patience was the word of the day.  A technique that helps achieve maximum depth for the situation presented, is to get the lens as parallel to the subject as possible.  This will allow you to achieve a desired depth to get the detail you need without resorting to using a small aperture.
