From the side of the Road

I like backlighting shots.  They have a glow to that resonate a painterly quality and impressionistic feel.  However, they can be hard to shoot because you often have to shield your lens from glare.  This shot was tricky because I had to use my hat and extend it far beyond the camera to deflect the glare - and it had to be precise because a little one way and the hat was in frame and a little the other and glare crept in.  It took a few snaps but I was able to position the hat just right.  The colors pop more and the detail is more pronounced in the contrasty quality of the image.
