Gettysburg - Culps Hill Gettysburg is a fascinating location. To think of all the fighting that took place here over a variety of terrains is mind boggling. Culps Hill is one of the more dense areas in the park. Lots of woods, though I believe at the time there was somewhat less trees than now, but none-the-less, to walk this area and think of the pursuing South on the retreating North and all the death that took place here, it is almost too much to comprehend. This is a shot of one of many monuments that dot this section of the park - I believe this monument is in commemoration of a specific New York group. |
