Grass Pink

June is a great month to shoot wildflowers in the Pine Barrens.  One of the more splendid flowers is called Grass Pink.  Several blooms can blossom on one long stalk.  As wonderful of a flower that it is, it can be tricky to photograph.  This flower is tough to get to stay still.  It can be a fairly tall bloom on a long, thin stalk, making it easy for it to bounce around in the slightest of breezes.   An aperture of f/8 can sometimes achieve enough depth when using long macro lenses but you could be waiting a while to achieve the appropriate shutter speed - unless of course you want to change your ISO up to 800.
