Hacklebarney State Park, Winter

This is the biggest falls in Hacklebarney State Park.  Total height is about 10 feet at most.  But it's not the height that makes this a nice area, it's the structure and look of the falls.  Coming off the trail from the parking lot, you can either walk right to the top of the falls and look down stream (see Wall of Color Photo for that view) or you can follow the trail that rises up from the falls before descending down a  long stone staircase to get to the foot of the falls, like in this image.  There are several nice points that one can setup and just marvel at the falls and listen to its hypnotic flow.  I've seen people meditate, play instruments, have picnics, splash around and even fish in the this small but quaint location.  It is a very nice spot for taking pictures and there are many angles that one can choose.  This angle has a more classic feel to it and is one of may favorite vantage points for shooting in all seasons.
