Hackelbarney State Park

Hacklebarney State Park in Chester NJ, is a truly beautiful little park, nestled in a deep ravine created in the last Ice Age.  Walk around for a while and you'll notice all sort of large boulders bandied about looking like the playroom floor of giants who got tired of tossing large stones around.

This image is of Trout Creek.  It flows into the bigger Black River.  Spring time is terrific season to shoot here.  There are ample wildflowers to shoot and the greens are lush, making creek scenes like this inviting for the photographer.  Again, like in most of my shots, I try to find the highlights and see how they measure up to the mid tones, or dominant color in a scene and make my exposure evaluations based on those differences.  A polarizer helps give the image a little more punch.
