Jordan Pond Jordan Pond in Acadia National park is a very picturesque place. This was shot around 4:30 in the afternoon. The sun was just beginning to get at a nice angle for shooting. With chest-waiters on, I maneuvered my way out to these rocks and set up the shot. I used a polarizer and took meter readings off the foreground rocks, the water and the sky and tried to find a happy balance. Jordan Pond is a tough location because it runs basically north to south. The Bubbles on the far end is north. The right side is east and to the left is west. The good low light is almost always block by the two mountains east and west. Since this shot was taken in late spring, the lighting was even a little tougher to handle. |
