Marsh Marigold

This Marsh Marigold blooms in May in the Adirondacks.  It is a beautiful yellow flower that can be found in wet areas and shallow waters.  While scouting locations for my wildflower workshop I came upon a nice cluster of these flowers in a pool that was no more than six feet across.  I spotted this subject and started to work it with my 100mm macro.  As I went through my aperture options, I noticed that the more I closed down the more defined the reflections in the water became - detail and cool reflections - why not!  So I spot metered my flower in the center of it, set my focus on the edge of the petal right before you get into the plant and bracketed.  I had never encountered this kind of background reflection in a shot before.  I hope I can recognize the conditions that made this shot possible, so I can capitalize on it for the future.
