Ode to Wyeth Who says you can't shoot interesting shots in the middle of the day? This was taken around 1pm on a bright sunny day in Whitesbog. I had the opportunity to grab an hour or so of shooting one sunny weekday afternoon and tried to make the best of it. Generally bright sunny skies in the middle of the day produce nothing. But on this occasion I tired the abstract route. First I tried some backlighting images but they all failed to produce anything of note. Then I went to a familiar location and noticed the lines of the trees and how they were laying out in the viewfinder. I decided to try some tilting blurs. Of the images I shot, this one worked the best. The earth tones of the image reminded me of an Andrew Wyeth painting, hence the title. This was shot at ISO 100, f/16@1/8, 90mm. |
