Stumps in the Bog This image gives the illusion of being in some deep water (or at least above my ankles), but it isn't. The water where I set up this shot was maybe an inch deep and the stumps weren't much deeper. Normally this is near the middle of the lake and normally this stump is submerged but in the dry summer of 2005, this lake was very low. A week after this was shot, I was able to easily walk across a dried lake floor for about another 100 feet or so. This image, like many of my other Pine Barrens images, was taken at Whitesbog. It is truly a great place for a photographer to go and have a great time making pictures. I used a two stop soft grad to keep the exposure values at an even flow. |
