Maine Sunrise at Marshall Point While on a family vacation, I got up early one morning and headed over to Marshall Point Lighthouse. I took a compass reading and saw that the Lighthouse was going to make for a tough subject given where the sun was rising in relation to the Lighthouse - I just couldn't work out a shot that I liked. Instead I worked on a standard sunrise shot. It was a good sun to shoot around but the subject matter was average. Then came the flock of birds. It was like a gift. I quickly recomposed, remetered, and changed focal lengths. I was able to snap two shots off before the whole feel of the shot changed. |
