The Gates

In February of 2005, the Gates came to Central Park in NYC.  My wife and I had tickets to see Mama Mia (a nice popcorn play) so we decided to go early and take a look at the big artwork that was all over the newspapers and TV.  Neither one of us had much in the way of expectations for this work but we were both captivated by it.  I can't tell you why I we were attracted to it but we were.  Maybe it was the way the Gates stood out in dreary, dank, cold, gray, February but we liked it.  I then decided to head into the city one day and take my shot at photographing this unique art.  I shot about 3 or 4 rolls and have a variety of images I like, this is just one.
